Hyundai's Latest Car

India.com's coverage of the 2008 Paris Motor Show continues - tonight we have the very special new Hyundai Sante Fe Blue to quench your thirst.
With the Sante Fe Blue, Korean automobile giant Hyundai enters the future proof hybrid-electric territory. Although the Elantra LPI is Hyundai’s first production hybrid that would be available for sale in July 2009, the Sante Fe Blue would be the next step.
Lets get straight to the specs - the Hyundai Santa Fe blue Hybrid is powered by a 2.4 liter gasoline engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and a 30Kw electric motor.
The electric motor of the car also works as a generator to charge the batteries, much like the other Hybrid cars out there. One interesting feature is that there is an engine shutoff/restart system that effectively reduces idle time for the gas engine. Also electronic power steering reduces parasitic engine losses.
The Sante Fe Blue zooms from 0-100 kmph in just 10.5 seconds, emitting just 148 g/km of CO2. The car has a swell mileage of 15 kmpl.
Slapped with a three-piece panoramic glass roof, UV filtered sliding glass panels and gorgeous interiors, the Hyundai Sante Fe Blue is just what you're looking for in a car. Hyundai will reveal its pricing an availability shortly. Check back for more on India.com
