Nenu Meeku Telusa stars Manoj Manchu, Nassar, P Vasu, Uttej, Sunil, Brahmanandam, Bharat, Mallikharjuna Rao and Surekha Vani. Bollywood starlets Sneha Ullal and Riya Sen make their foray into Telugu cinemas.
Nenu Meeku Telusa is about Aditya (Manoj Manchu) who suffers from Short Term Memory Loss. His memory stays fresh through out the day but it gets erased when he sleeps. He wakes up every morning with no recollection of his identity. (Anyone seen Adam Sandler's 50 first dates?)
Nobody knows about Aditya's condition except for his uncle and his personal doctor. In a sudden turn of events, largely thanks to his medical condition he is accused of a murder.
As simple as that may sound, the movie has a run time of 2 and a half hours. Numerous sub plots, comedy and songs make up for the ticking clock. There is a commendable chase sequence during the first half of Nenu Meeku Telusa that has the audience in awe. The film is laced with bleached overtones and dishes out some swanky imagery in places.
Characterization is generally good but the hero's friends share unnecessary screen time. The cinematography is spaghetti, but that is a good thing in this case. The songs are passable, but 'Enno Enno' (which has been gorgeously shot) stands out. It shows in the movie that Telugu cinemas' production values are miles ahead of what they used to be five years ago.
Coming to the characters... Manoj Manchu does a fine job as the amnesiac Aditya. He is a good comedian and a fine stuntman. His dialogue delivery deserves praise and is quite convincing in his role. Five stars to him. Riya Sen and Sneha Ullal don't have much to do in the movie but are still passable as Aditya's love interests. Bramhanandam is hilarious as the fashion designer mouthing 'What the Frock' every other minute.
Overall Nenu Meeku Telusa is aimed at multiplexes, and for guys and girls who're looking for something different from the regular stale cookies out of the movie industry's oven.
